I have ruled out that it's either my ECU that's bad, or the "soft valves" that the early engines came out with. My only tests left are to swap out the ECU with another one to see if it's the ECU, and to test the continuity from the ECU to the injector connectors with a noid light. If those tests work, then I've ruled out that it's got to be the "soft valves."
But anyway, here's a link to what I've done relating the cold start problem. I have to use starter fluid/carb fluid only on cold starts to get it running. Hope it helps.
