Message pipe install of 12.3 afr when previously was at 11.5.

** This is not a knock on the MS turbo inlet pipes **

It was suggested that this was due to a boost leak or some other issue not related to the MS turbo inlet pipe install.

A few speculated vacuum leak / fuel injector issue / Fuel pressure issue / etc.

A boost leak generally will make the Z run rich - I previously ohmed all the 850 cc injectors - all were good / and my fuel pressure gauge read good / normal as well.

On my Z i have the 2.5 inch intercooler piping upgrade / Ash massives intercoolers / and Selin Kit. I've been running the intercooler piping upgrade for a few years so I don't remember if the Z had to be re-tuned / program tweaked with the intercooler piping upgrade.. but I "thought" it made the Z leaner.

** FYI -Last year, I installed the Selin Kit and my AFR did not change but the Z was more responsive post install **

Regardless .. after the ms turbo inlet pipe upgrade --I did do a boost leak and I found an o-ring leaking on the fuel rail.

Spoke to Z tuner about it based on his response to one of my posts linked above, and followed his advice and sent him my bin ( I have Nistune ). He emailed me a Rescaled bin that extends the load range on my map.

I subsequently fixed the o-ring on the fuel rail issue - re-did boost leak and all was tight. Afterwards, I drove the Z and it still ran lean at WOT ( 12.3 range ) ???

I loaded the new rescaled map and drove the Z in 3rd gear and 4rth gear WOT ... new AFR readings on both gauges read 11.8 - 12.0.

So what this is telling me is that as we make our Z's more efficient on the intake side to generate more power - based on certain upgrades - it maybe wise to have our maps rescaled / tuned for the bolts on that are going on our Zs.

I suppose it's possible given that everyone has talked about how restrictive the MS inlet pipes are .. now the system is more free flowing. If this all is true, that means with more air and if fuel is added ( to get the AFR ratios back down to 11.5 ) more power can be realized. This being "free power".

It would be nice if someone measure / MAF voltage by RPM / boost before and after intake upgrades to confirm with "science" what I am experiencing.

FYI - Ztuner will be tuning my Z ( get back to 11.5 AFR on pump ) and others on 8/6 in Philly / Delaware area - check events ...
