I had tp's and dp's on a rebuilt engine and it worked great...no smoke for ~10k miles. Then I think I accidently set my bc on external wastegate during bc learning mode and the next day the car smoked when I let off the gas. I still don't know what the problem was, but I think I blew a ring, meanwhile I thought it was the turbo which I replaced 2 times. It kept smoking so i decided to replace the whole engine/turbos. So to make a long story short...I'm not sure if it was the tp's that eventually caused the smoke or the accidental setting of external wastegate...I'm thinkin more on the wastegate side. Anyhow, I contradict myself with the tp's/dp's running great for 10k miles...though I'm pretty sure if that external wastegate incident didn't happen the car would be just fine with the tp's/dp's. Dunno, take what I said for what it's worth, lol.
