You can read my own experience with it here: NA speed sensor in a TT autoThe NA slushy speed sensor is not a direct swap with the TT slushy sensor like it is on the 5spd. The NA slushy sensor has a larger diameter than its TT counterpart and thus doesn't fit in the TT auto tranny. You have to swap the gear from the NA sensor to the TT sensor, reinstall the TT sensor rotated 180 degrees from stock, and fabricate a custom retainer for the sensor (because the single mounting screw obviously no longer lines up with the threaded hole). I took a bigass washer and punched out the ID with a holesaw (offset to one side to leave room for the mounting screw on the other side, holesaw obviously has to be large enough so the washer slides over the sensor), drilled a hole in the washer to match the original mounting hole location, and used a press to deform the washer such that it captures the original mounting tab on the sensor. Bolted down the washer and the sensor was positively captured (can't fall out and can't spin). The washer was very close to the same thickness as the sensor's mounting tab, so I was able to reuse the original mounting screw. Worked great, just took some time to fabricate the custom retainer. This was the case for my 1990 NA slushy and the replacement 1990 TT slushy anyway. The 5spd guys have it easy, those are direct swaps.
