Message	you don't need to have a step in the flywheel unless you are having a serious issue with the clutch not grabbing... then you can opt for a step where they put a small step around the edge of the flywheel about an inch in to get the pressure plate to bolt down a hair lower giving you a bit more grab... but it's not a requirement.
