Getting welding tips (boost jets) into the vacuum hoses is a bit tough. Getting them back out when necessary is tougher. I know this has been discussed before, but the following little write-up might help those looking for something a bit more visual.

If you want an easy way to change/replace/remove/test different boost jets without installing a boost controller, just use some little sections of vacuum/fuel hose and inline vacuum connectors. A slight re-route of the vacuum hoses will make the change even easier (around the top of the intake/intercooler piping and back down to where they connect). After you get this done you can change out boost jets in about 30 seconds.

To do this, you'll need about 3-4 feet of vacuum/fuel hose, FOUR inline connectors, and an assortment of boost jets. Cut 3-4" lengths of hose for the boost jet "jumpers". You will use the rest of the vacuum hose to make up for the length needed after re-routing the hose a bit.

Make a pair of the "jumpers" for each configuration (.045, .040, .035, and empty [to go back to stock]). I cut down the expanded end of the original hose (where it was connected) to ensure a tight fit on the inline connectors. Then just add an inline connector, slip on the "jumper", add another connector, and then measure out an appropriate amount of hose to get back down to the intake pipe connection, and clamp it back on.

Once you are done, just swap the "jumpers" out when needed (minimal effort required) - see what your Z can handle : )

Driver Side - I pulled the hose from underneath the
intake/intercooler pipes and re-routed it around and over. From
the top, where you see the hose wrapping back around the intake
pipe, it does a dip and then a smooth bend to the left to connect to the
intake pipe.
