use a vice grip (firmly, but not really clamped super-hard) between each sprocket pair, to clamp them towards each other and keep them from rotating, once you've found the right cam angle. (this comes from the GM manual for DOHC cars and works quite well) I think I posted pretty much the same thing as a response to someone else a month ago or so, clamps and all , and I took pix as well, but did not post them.
