Message This gets asked often enough and good clear pictures are hard to come by... SO when Robo (Sebring1970) talked to me about installing a Kaminari wing on his 92TT, I really wanted a chance to do the job AND document it.

So first & foremost thanks to Robo for trusting me to (not) tear up his car on this learning deal and to Raj (brahmabull), Wayne (shikadance), Harry (SpdDemon13) & Pete (TT-Z) for lending a hand or a idea along the way.

Special Tools:
Racing (masking) tape, break away Xacto blade, strong wire

Hatch panel removed and third tail light out. You will see 2 8mm capped nuts that need to be removed as well as several 10mm (?)s.

Pull off the moulding that is fitted to the underside of the wing.

Then we masked the edge of the hatch where it meets the wing so that we didnt harm that paint.

With the Xacto knife (long flexable blade is key) we scored the edge of the wing and used heat too. There is a strip of 2 sided tape that bonds the surfaces together.

With the edge of the wing seperated from the hatch we ran a section of wire under it. It took a good bit of fource but it "cut" the several glued and "snapped" mounting points with out harming the wing.

The money shot:

...and the proud father:

WE removed the masking tape and started cleaning the 2 sided tape, epoxy and clips out.

Simple Green, GooGone (lighter fluid)

Hatch w. out tail or light:

Sealing up the holes so its ready to visit the body shop. All in All the 90-93 wing leave 6 holes in the hatch that need to be filled prior to having something else installed. Leaving this part to the pros is the smart move.

Thats pretty much the whole process - I think it was about a 1.5 hour ordeal. We went slowly as we learned and our first goal was to perserve the wing that was removed and not damage the hatch. Mission accomplished.

The rest of the pics are here if you want other angles etc:

And while I do think that the wing would look bling on the 'Go...

Robo tells me its forsale so drop him a email @ robo-doc@msn.com

That is all.
Enjoy.
