: you limit yourself to 19-20 pounds of boost, which means you won't have to upgrade the internals (unless you want to). when you toss in larger turbos, you'll start boosting 21-24 psi (or more), but you should strengthen the valve train, connecting rods, heads, etc. there are a lot of Z's with bigger turbos that use stock internals. valve train, connecting rods, and heads do not have to be strengthened. rods are good for up to 600hp and how the heck do you strengthen the heads?... do you mean use a metal head gasket? stock head gasket is good for a bit over 600hp. so, you can easily do TEC1's or JWT sport 500's or 600's and still use all stock internals.
