Message	Decking the block is done for two reasons, ensure a flat surface and to square the block. The amount removed depends on which process is involved. Assuming both episodes are for cleaning up the surface then 0.002-0.003 is generally the amount removed per mill. I think the measurement is taken relative to the piston crown.
