Message	miles. Not sure if from mileage, or age. The tell was not just the ride quality, but also, I noticed 3 of them were leaking oil. I replaced them around 2 years ago, and the car would have been 31 years old from manufacturing date at the point. It really depends. My 1993 were perfect when I removed them to install KYB AGX and Eibachs. And it had close to 90k miles when I replaced them. They were also only about 15 years old at that point.
