Message has temp sensor values to determine fuel injector pulse rate. If too low it will interpret as still in warm up mode.

I have seen that condition not on my NA Z but on other cars I have owned.

Where does the temp gage needle point when you have the running hot condition? My NA runs a bit down from the middle as normal since owned from 1992. I have the OEM thermostat there. Do you have a infra red temp gun?

For your running hot condition check the radiator after running and shut down to feel if there are areas that are noticeably cooler than other parts. If so there probably is plugging in some of the channels and it needs to be cleaned - properly.

Have you changed the coolant on a regular basis and flushed the system
as well? I do mine every few years and use a 50/50 mix of 100% diluted with distilled water.
