Subject	Surging in 3rd and 4th gear

Message	My 91 TT surges in 3rd and 4th gear when under boast between 3500 to 4000rpms. It doesn't do it in 1st or 2nd gear. It's smooth throughout the power band. I have taken it to two mechanics and they have not been able to figure it out. Any advise is welcome. Also can any body recommend a good mechanic in the San Diego area that can work on a 91 TT?
