Message	Rod is more pronounced. For information, Rod Bearing has no Effect on Compression Numbers.. Unless, Things are way out of range ( Bearing Clearance really wide) But that is another story.. Sounds like a Flat Lifter.. Change the Oil a Few Times, and run it a LOT.. see if the Tick Goes away.. As for the Compression Number.. Don't worry about it.. you can't fix it without a teardown..
