I have a bunch of peripheral crap and rather than tap into a power wire (3 or 4 times) at the ECU harness I'd like to wire in a relay and run a dedicated fused power line from the battery followed by a splitter with one line going to a switched relay (87 pin). The hot side (switched on - 30 pin) will feed a power distribution block so I can run blade fuses and properly wire in a few components. So the question is: Can I just tap into an ECU 12V switched power line for my trigger switch? My concern is that most relay wiring diagrams I see show the trigger passing through the relay to a ground. If I tap into a power line and ground it, won't that cause a short and potentially impact whatever components that power wire feeds? I was thinking of using ECU wire 109 for the trigger. That's the one Bernie's Racelogic installation instructions point to. Thx
