I’ve always wondered this myself. I don’t hear the fan when the car is cold. car warms up, I start to hear it on acceleration and deceleration 1-3k rpms. Replaced the fan clutch with an oem unit back in January. Sounds the same before I replaced what I thought was a faulty fan clutch. I was over at zshack one day while they were doing work on a car revving the engine, and I heard the same noise. I asked Rick and Scott, they said that’s the normal design of the fan. Who knows. Like you said, it’s a pity because the VG sounds great without that damn noise. Also, the car just seems stronger when you can’t hear the fan. (That’s probably mental, or butt dyno feelings)
