Subject	Cant use 1st or 2nd gear. Drove home in 3rd and 4th.

Message	Ok I will try to describe this problem... Shifted into 1st gear and drove off of a small curb from the grass i was parked on (very slowly and ive done it before). I got a horrible vibration in the shift knob like the spinning drive shaft was hitting it (metal on metal clanking) causing the shift knob to move up and down violently. So I pulled over and noticed the shifter is loose and unable to use 1st or 2nd without the horrible shaking. I was able to shift into 3rd and drive away, but somewhere i hit a small bump and the horrible clanking of the shifter on the drive shaft returned. I pulled over immediately and was able to shift into 4th gear at this point without the clanking and make it all the way home. Whats going on here?
