hole was to hide the camera. I do realize the need to point it downward. This is evident in cars that had these installed OEM. I may just use a license plate frame mounted camera or one under the ledge over it. One system I have seen that is wireless, will project the image on to a cell ph; a less than ideal situation. Some OEM applications in, for instance, BMWs, produce a virtual image using 4 cameras, giving the driver a view, as if you were looking down while suspended 20 feet above the car. Another aftermarket kit I have seen, available for select SUVs, adds 3 cameras (in addition to the OEM rear), one under each mirror and one in the front. When slowing down to 5 mph and below, the front view is displayed. When switching signals the side cams (L or R) come on to show the blind spot. Rev rear view is OEM.
