Message	thing to watch with the front main seal is the spring can pop out during install, but it sounds like you got it in correctly. It's a little exhagerated in the guide. I just lube it up and slowly rotate it until it's over the lip, goes in pretty easy. Did you take the valve covers off when you in there last time?
