I just looked at your original YouTube video. That amount of play on the lifter seems ok. I was envisioning it totally collapsing. I know it's a bitch replacing them.
However, if your pulling everything to replace the cam gears you might as well pull the lifters and check them. If they have play in them, just disassemble and bleed them until no play. See the lifter rebuild writeup for details. I followed it for my current rebuild and it was super easy. No play in any of my lifters after I finished. I store them in a small plastic container submerged in oil until ready for use.
