Message	bolt to eliminate rotation when bolting the flexplate to the torque converter. Using the crankshaft bolt to turn the engine should not come close to enough to loosen the bolt. GCamp may be right. Did you check the clearance between the torque converter and the mounting surface of the transmission? Perhaps the converter is not seated into the transmission correctly (enough).
