I want to try the tomei first since i have had them for long time , I don't really want to buy another set just yet until I try dialing them in. If I understand the vvt function correctly there is oil normally passing in the cam behind the button assembly and as the solenoid engages it closes off the flow, pressure builds and makes the helical gear turn. So by not having the vvt buttons installed in the cam no harm should come to the engine due to low oil pressure since normally oil will flow out the back of the cam anyhow, correct?
