Subject	Anyone ever heard of a LSD...slipping?

Message	I'm 99% sure the whining noise coming from the back of my Z is my diff. I have a new (used) one which I will be installing this weekend, but today starting from a stop, uphill (fairly steep) and turning right it felt almost as if I lost traction in one of the wheels. As soon as I straightened out I felt a slight "jolt". I know I wasn't spinning the tires as I barely had my foot on the accelerator. Could something inside the diff failing cause this to happen? Just curious.
