If you haven't removed the plenum, and your exhaust gasket is leaking, it probably means the plenum hasn't been pulled in a long time or ever. That opens you up to a lot of other issues with all the vacuum and coolant lines in the area, not to mention the connectors and the harness. Plus there's a few other details with the half moon VTC's and more that you don't want them to miss. I'd recommend they at least check out:

The "is it worth it" question is totally up to you and how much you value your time and money. It's an absolutely doable job with the resources above and more. However, it sounds like it will be your first plenum pull and more. I'd count on it taking up most of a weekend for you, and maybe longer depending on issues you run into or details that get missed.
