Can anyone help me with my 1991 2+2 with 48,000 original miles? Had the PTU changed for the first time within the past year. Car was bought with 38,000 original miles and drove it about 10,000 miles. Fixed the recent PTU problem under the recall within the last year. Car starts up fine, idles fine, and has NO codes on the ECU. Occassionally when i drive the car about 30 minutes as approaching a stop sign and down shift to 2nd the car will kill. All the dash lights come on, no power steering and car off. It starts right up, and I can start driving immediately again. The only thing I noticed is that the plastic under the fender weld has been torn and been dragging. I was wondering if this could cause more air flow and cause the car to shut down. Z is completely stock. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Car is well maintained and this the first issue. I did read if you have underneath exposed this could be a problem but seems too easy to imagine. Lost here?
