So I pulled the fuel vapor check valve off and tried blowing through both sides. From the top (tank to engine) it let a small amount of air thru and in the opposite direction it let a lot of air though(engine to tank). Is this normal? Still confused I opened it up and a loose metal ball/marble fell out along with a plastic piece. Definitely where my rattle was coming from but it looked like the marble or plastic piece shouldve been glued to something.
I pulled a similar one way check valve off an 1985 z31 300zx but im not sure which way to put it on. Is the fuel vapor check valve supposed to only let air into the tank or only let air out? My instinct says only let air out(tank to engine) to release the vapors...but the old valve I pulled off seamed to be the opposite?? Maybe because it was broken?
