Hello, I am was bolting up my turbos and oil/coolant lines the other night. When installing oil supply lines on a turbocharger, I was thinking to try checking how well the lines are sealed by supplying 2-3psi of air into inlet hose and holding the outlet hole shut... Instead I have faint hissing sound coming out of compressor housing and chra is not holding pressure... :-/ So I tested all 7 turbos I have laying around the garage and they are all doing the same thing, ball bearing and thrust bearings alike... I also tried to pressurize the compressor housing with air and it also leaks (into chra?). Is that normal? The turbos are new from Garrett. I'd rather make sure before continuing assembly. I also wonder how I will do boost leak test then? The coolant pipes hold pressure fine with no leaks. Thank you again. AK.
