So I have a great condition long block sitting on a stand. It has extremely low miles, but has been sitting for a very long time (10-15 years). I would like to do a compression test on the engine before I put more money in to bringing it back to operational condition. I picked up a custom-made engine stand that allows for an auto bellhousing and starter to be installed to do a compression test. Before doing a compression test though, I would like to pressurize the oil system to protect against any potential damage from cranking over this very dry engine. Would this be possible? I was thinking it could be possible using some sort of fluid pump through the oil filter tree. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this? My success searching the net for info has been limited, because I don't think I'm searching with the right terms. I appreciate any help!
