Message	no the correct way of doing it is spec the piston based on its cam profile. From there they "suggest" what the minimal clearance it should be ran in based on bore dimension with clearance included. For engines running higher boost pressure and seeing higher than normal temps and pressures you want to compensate for that with an added amount of P to W clearance.
