Excerpt from an e-mail of mine: To prime the oil pump I bought another oil filter, drilled a hole in it, attached an adapter for my shop vac. Game plan is to suck some air out with the shop vac enough to prime the pump which has been done effectively by others except using additional plumbing. The oil pump primer was WAY more effective than it needed to be. I lost about ¾ quart of oil in priming the pump after 15 seconds of cranking. Once I took the primer off and reinstalled the permanent oil filter oil pressure during cranking was obvious. It took about 15 seconds of cranking and you see oil pressure coming up.
