pressure drops across the filter (which I believe is where the sending unit pulls from) and down the flow path until it hits 0 (at the point of use) Fluid dynamics and all :) The OEM oil cooler is not a full flow oil cooler, its regulated with a thermostatic bypass, so it wont have high pressure.
