Message	If that reduces (or eliminates) the problem I would live with the tranny and not rebuild or replace. How often do you down shift from 5 to 4? Why do you need to downshift to 4th? Not saying different fluids will solve your problem but I tried more than a few in mine to help 2 gear whine and notchy 1- 2 shift. I tried MT90, Amsoil, Valvoline, Mobile 1, and others and found Royal Purple 75w 90 gear oil worked the best for me for bearing lube and smoother shifts. Manual tranny's are finicky like women.
