But the factory bolts are not TTY so they can be reused if measured within spec (neck diameter and overall length). Angle torque does not signify a TTY bolt. It appears to be the new common method for tightening bolts. I did the head gasket on an '08 Honda Civic and almost all the major bolts (crank, cam sprockets, heads, etc) were 'Torque to x ft-lbs in pattern, then torque 90 degrees further' OP likely had warped head or dirty/rough surface when installing gasket. My recommendation: Check deck surfaces for flatness and install new HGs. Also, pay close attention to the flatness between the cooling passages on the block and the cylinder bore, on a few Z engines I rebuilt I noticed that area was slightly recessed vs the remainder of the deck and required machining.
