I wish I had a before or after photo. Mine was almost completely blocked, which may have contributed to the higher temps. I also purchased a bit from a professional tool store. Dremel was just not long enough to get deep inside the block. I ended up using a drill. You can check the pics to see how it turned out. Probably a good idea about the nitrided crank. I last rebuilt my Z in 2003 but as of 2014 the crank looked good. I only had it polished at the machine shop. Rods/crank/pistons all balanced.
