Message Filter is another discussion, personally I've never used an OEM oil filter and I don't have any information on whether they are better or worse than parts store filters (other than FRAM, which again suck)

Sorry, rotella must have slipped my mind. You should either use break-in oil, or conventional oil with a zinc (zddp) additive
