Thought I'd post a follow up since everyone was so nice to help me. Had to take Z to an expert :). Noticed on the drive over that fuel pressure was quite low at about 60ish in 4th gear. It was around 15 on the built in gauge. So some more oil was put in the car and the ticking stopped. Shocking that hydraulic lifters would need oil :). The mystery is how it got low on oil in the first place. I'm driving it around to see if the ticking returns, oil pressure get's low, etc. No signs of leaking oil, can't smell anything burning, etc.
