| I only have limited knowledge - Grimm is the man, so I will answer you how Grimm answered me when I had a similar question! "Factory states 0.008" is the deck limit for using stock components. That number is combined removal from the block and heads. This is due to the timing shift that happens when the heads get closer to the crankshaft. Camshaft timing retards approximately (0.15 DS/0.35 PS) degrees per 0.005" removed, assuming heads are decked evenly, which they should be. You can just as easily deck further if required with oversize head gaskets (i.e. Cometic)"
Cometic, Nismo, and Tomei are the more popular thicker gaskets. The are listed in order of price. You can order them to size depending on how much you take off the heads/block.
If you search 'cometic' on the site, you will see they had a bad batch or something, but I think people are using them again.
