Message	I imagine you could polish it off yourself, however. As long as it's just surface rust, and not flaky thick,, I don't imagine it causing issues. And someone else with more experience can chime in if I'm wrong, but I would definitely prelube the cams before re-assembly. If they were so dry from lack of oil they could rust, I would NOT trust whatever oil is left in the bearings for your first startup.
