Subject	check engine light

Message	1990 twin turbo, went to get it smogged, the check engine light would not come on when the ignition was turned on, pulled a coil wire to fake a problem still no check engine light the check engine light bulb looked good but changed any way, still no light. hoping someone could suggest something else I should be checking. car runs fine just can not get it smogged until this is fixed
