Message	coil, insert the spark plug into the coil, ground it, and have someone crank the car while you look at the plug. You should see if it's firing or not. Just do it for each one. As far as the plenum goes I feel your pain. Have you thought about bypassing the plenum water lines? It makes pulling the plenum feel like an oil change, literally a 45 min job if that.
