Message	due to age. The connector in question was large & red attached to the outside of the fuse box. Follow a wiring diagram from the IAVC/AAC and make a separate jumper wire/connector for the fast idle control valve to bypass your harness to test this theory. I didn't ask if you had your air conditioner hooked up and if it was bumping up the idle when switched on. All three of the IAVC functions (aux air control, fast idle control, cold start idle) run through the same harness to the fuse box. Let me know if this helps.
