I want to repaint the throttle cable cover on the plenum. After 20 years of heat and grime it is not looking too good anymore. What is the best method of removing the metal strip from the cover? Dental floss, as in adhered body emblems? How about cleaning the adhesive once its removed. The strip is very thin and I bet quite fragile. Mechanical scraping may damage it. Harsh solvents may take the paint off of it. Any ideas would be appreciated.
