Message nobody really cares about smog, as long as the car can be started, driven for a few yards, and you pay something like $100 , you'll be able to pass.

what they care are the papers, when the car entered the chinese custom, they will write down the engine number and the vin #

im sheer lucky to have the original motor, although rusted, the machine shop can somehow make it crank and fire!!

parts were always from the US and shipped to me.

:I had no Idea the Motor number really existed on any papers.
:Yep.. it's a PITA law.. At least you still have the Org Motor!..
:If 1-our in China, you will have difficulty getting parts.. they are all made there ( LOL ).. But not the ones you need.
:Just purchase a NA ecu from a 93-95 to get the Proper Injector Size.. ( Likely it'll be a 16 Bit ECU ).. do you need to pass any Tailpipe Smog.. ? If you don't then a 90-96 ECU will work.. 8 or 16 Bit..
:It has to do with the AIV program in the Pre '93 ECU's.. and Post 92 Na's do not have AIV's.. and it will screw up your Idle Mixture..
