Message The fsm is incorrect, however it makes sense that the alternator belt requires the most tension. It drives the water pump and alternator- 2 accessories that are used extensively at idle.

Deflection is measured at roughly 20 lbs of force. For me, 20 lbs takes a good effort with 2 fingers. I cannot press hard enough with one finger.

The oem spec is VERY tight on the alternator belt. Are you sure you didn't get a defective water pump? Aftermarket ones are known to fail.
