accuracy. Just a diagnosis as working or not. Do you know for sure its off by 10 degrees over a wide span of temperature ranges? Could be off at one extreme (very cold or hot) but good in the mid-ranges?
Asking since the sensor is a thermo resistor -- a resistor than changes value with temperature but in a consistent (linear) way. If always off by 10 degrees - would guess due to age it might just have gone out of spec? There's o adjustment on the car I could find in the factory manual for re-calibrating the system due to a sensor measurement issue.
FWIW - Last SUV I had the sensor would read about 5 degrees high in hot summer temps (98 or higher) but be good the rest of the time.
