Message I forgot to mention: the inhibitor switch controls the starter relay. In other words, if your inhibitor switch is sending a bad signal (broken), or your Z is in the wrong gear (Z won't let you crank in any gear but "P" and "N"), the starter won't fire. I'd recommend unplugging the inhibitor switch and cranking the engine, and/or temporarily bypassing the switch and trying then.
