In Reply To would pressurizing the rail with fuel be just as good??? (n/m) posted by LivinTheDream on November 20, 2014 at 06:40 AM

Message thus air is used, and safer and very adequate to check for leaks at the injector tips and o rings in fuel rail. Once installed on engine another test with fuel in the lines can be done to check other connections in the system. Remember once installed a pressure test on the system will not visually show if the injector tips are leaking so that is why I do the off engine test of the injectors and fuel rail, saves time for a pull of fuel rail and prevents a search for which injector tip might be leaking.

When I was doing my injector replace I did the off engine air test and found a leaking injector and had to replace it.
