Message Set the springs so that they are lightly held in place by the collars with the strut bodies off the car. Then, only adjust the bottom cup for height.

When the coilovers are installed, your rubber suspension bushings will put pressure on the springs. If you set pre-load to zero with the coilovers in your car, you will lose strut travel and height.

Also, make sure to loosen and re-tighten your rubber chassis bushings with your Z on the ground when you've reached your final ride height.
