Message I'm struggling to get to the bottom of a problem with my 90 Z32 TT
It idles really rough and cylinder 5 appears to be dead - no impact when disconnecting that coil.
I swapped coils with another cylinder with no difference.
I also put spark plug in end of coil on #5 and cranked and it seemed like good strong spark.
I thus concluded was bad injector - I had replaced two before and the symptoms were very similar.
New injector installed and that cylinder still does not change when plugging/unplugging the coil.
I checked the PTU and it has the type 2 unit couple of questions on that:
Do Type 2's fail?
Is it possible to have it fire coil/plug when in atmosphere, but when under compression, does not?

In the course of diagnostics I also found the following: I do not get the frequency of lean/rich switching as defined by the manual - perhaps 1 or 2 changes per 10 secs even on the left bank, where all cylinders at least appear to be firing correctly (i.e. engine drops off noticably if any of those are disconnected)

Thoughts? Suggestions?
Appreciated!
