think about hydrolocking causing the dragging starter. One other "clue" that may or may not factor in: it seems that before it fails, it stumbles and I seem to be turning when the stumble occurs. I died when I turned into the gas station. I got out, lifted the hood to check my gauge, tried to start it..and it started. Went ahead and filled up with gas and went to the parking lot and started making turns. It failed and this time, didn't restart. That's when I observed the gauge losing pressure. The regulator and damper aren't that old. Replaced them when I put in the 740s.
